Director Admissions (School of Government and Policy) - 119135. The newly announced School of Government and Policy, unveiled in October 2023, presents a pivotal opportunity for Johns Hopkins University to strengthen its footprint and engagement in the nation’s capital. This initiative aims to serve society, train the next generation of public servants, drive data-informed government innovation, and confront the complex challenges facing today’s policymakers. The person filling this position will be working in a start-up environment – creating processes and procedures, navigating unexpected obstacles, and adapting to change frequently. An agile mindset and flexible approach to daily responsibilities is needed as we define new ways of working within a well-established university. We are seeking a solution-focused person with a demonstrated ability to create new paths to achieve results. The Director Admissions will provide leadership and management to the Admissions team and serve as part of the overall leadership team. The Director can operate within both Divisional and Central offices. Responsibilities, qualifications and other details are described below. Responsibilities
Develop strategic, data-informed student admission recruitment, marketing, and enrollment strategies and goals. Contribute to the creation and execution of yearly recruitment plan. Lead and manage area of admissions specialization. Partner with offices across campus to ensure a smooth and accurate transition of information from applicants to matriculating students. Determine the fiscal requirements, prepare and manage budgetary recommendations for the Admissions office. Analyze reports, track trends, and provide statistical information. Plan and oversee the work of staff to ensure the appropriate procedures and policies are followed in compliance with current admissions standards. Hire and supervise Admissions Office Staff, prepare performance appraisals, promotions, and handle disciplinary actions. Serve on various committees as assigned by the leadership. Maintain and audit systems and protocols to ensure they are compliant, accurate and sound. Identify enhancements and solutions to systems and operational infrastructure. Represent Admissions in public events, information settings, and visits. Travel and night/weekend work may be required. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree. Five years related experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Preferred Qualifications
Expert user in Slate, including ability to build workflows and data infrastructure for reporting environments. Ability to partner with a technical team to design / structure Slate workflow to optimize data collection and reporting. Experience with data-based decision making. Ability to leverage BI tools for reporting. Additional Information
Classified Title: Director Admissions Role/Level/Range: ACRP/04/MF Starting Salary Range: $75,100 - $145,000 Annually (Commensurate w/exp.) Employee group: Full Time Schedule: 8:30am-5pm Monday-Friday FLSA Status: Exempt Location: District of Columbia Department name: Academic Administration Personnel area: School of Government & Policy Total Rewards: The base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will depend on factors including location, skills, experience, and education.
