As a Senior Lead Software Engineer - Golang/Java/Kubernetes at JPMorgan Chase within the Managed Platform teams, you play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your expertise and contributions promote significant business impact, as you apply deep technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to address a wide range of challenges across multiple technologies and applications, including broader risk governance ownership. The Managed Platforms group is tasked with defining, developing, engineering, and operating private cloud products utilized by our Application Development teams across the firm. Our product portfolio encompasses the definition, engineering, and operation of modern platforms for applications, functions, and container runtimes, including platforms such as Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes.
Job responsibilities
Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
Ensure technology risk impacting managed platforms is effectively identified, quantified, communicated, managed, and ultimately reduced.
Serve as a point of escalation and subject matter expert for Product Risk, including vulnerability management, information security related to cloud, and application security.
Interface with Lead ISMs, Technology Leadership and Application Development teams on an on-going basis for business as usual risk activities, reporting and project initiatives.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
Significant software engineering experience and a proven record on reducing risk
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Advanced in one or more programming language(s) including Golang or Java, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry
Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
Practical cloud native experience
Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
AWS or other cloud technologies
