Overview
Wyetech is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems. The role involves collaborating with a team of engineers to create software solutions that meet client needs. The environment emphasizes modern tools, continuous learning, and delivering high-quality software solutions. Note: Due to federal contract requirements, United States citizenship and position-appropriate security clearance are required (e.g., Active TS/SCI with agency-appropriate polygraph). Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement software capabilities for computer-based systems. Work closely with other engineers to create software solutions that meet client needs. Operate in a fast-paced, small business environment with a collaborative team, applying strong testing and troubleshooting skills. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
Security Clearance: A current Secret level U.S. Government Security Clearance is required; U.S. Citizenship is required. Experience: 9+ years as a software engineer designing, developing, and deploying complex backend systems with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or 7 years with a Master's; or 13 years with a High School Diploma. Work Location: Ability to work in a hybrid environment, spending 1–2 days per week at the Columbia, MD office; flexibility to adapt to schedule changes as needed. Required Technical Skills
Designing enterprise APIs RESTful web services Microservices architecture Object Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigms Agile software lifecycle Proven ability to learn quickly and work independently or in a team Experience with Linux Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Nexus, Maven) Desired Technical Skills
Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) Distributed NoSQL databases and full-text search engines (e.g., Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Solr) Scripting experience Experience with Big Data platforms Understanding of Agile methodologies and standard tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, GitHub Enterprise) Benefits and Perks
