We are seeking a qualified attorney to join our Legal team. The Benefits Attorney Senior will provide legal guidance and support on employee benefits and employment law, serving as a key advisor to agency leadership and staff, ensuring organizational compliance and operational support. Salary
The starting salary is typically $85,020.00, but may vary based on education and experience. Check the

for an estimate of total compensation including benefits. A Day in the Life
The essential functions include: Training, managing, or supporting legal support staff; Providing legal support on various program and legal issues, especially employee benefits; Overseeing, drafting, or reviewing contracts; Negotiating with third-party administrators and health plan providers; Supporting procurement and RFP processes for health benefits; Researching and advising on laws, policies, and legal opinions; Drafting legislation and administrative rules; Preparing administrative documents and handling complaints; Participating in recruitment, onboarding, and training; Handling administrative matters and hearings; Utilizing litigation skills as needed; Drafting legal pleadings and motions; Ensuring compliance of employee benefit plans with federal laws like FMLA, ADA, and HIPAA; Some duties may be performed remotely, subject to operational needs and approval. The ideal candidate will have: A Juris Doctor degree and 5+ years of legal practice; Indiana Bar license in good standing; Knowledge of relevant statutes and case law; Effective communication skills; Experience with case management systems; Strong research, writing, and litigation skills; Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodations.
