This position is responsible for the overall implementation and direction for the assigned area of the estimating functions to provide services, procedures, and methods for the timely and accurate issuance of estimates and supporting documentation to the client and project management. In responding to estimating requests, is responsible for ensuring that departmental and company requirements are met. This position may direct the quantitative development of material, labor, and subcontract take-offs, as well as the coordination of information among Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Maintenance. On large to mid-sized or multiple projects, the individual, if on the leadership track, may act independently or may direct a staff of other estimating professionals. If on a technical track, the individual will report to an upper-level estimator on a mega or extremely large-sized Power or Nuclear projects. Responsibilities
Provide services, procedures, and methods for timely and accurate issuance of estimates and supporting documentation to the client and project management. Direct quantitative development of material, labor, and subcontract take-offs. Coordinate information among Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Maintenance. On large to mid-sized or multiple projects, lead a staff of estimating professionals or act independently if on the leadership track. If on a technical track, report to an upper-level estimator on mega or extremely large Power or Nuclear projects. Basic Job Requirements
HS Diploma or GED. Minimum 15 years of Project Estimating experience supporting Power or Nuclear projects. Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job. Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner. Other Job Requirements
Stay abreast of current estimating or industry techniques by learning and sharing knowledge and skills through professional organizations, vendors, clients, and other estimating professionals in the industry. Be knowledgeable of Procurement’s PARP and PARQ work processes. Convert any estimate into the format required for developing a Global Pricing Model. Be mobile and willing to take temporary and/or long-term assignments for career enhancement opportunities. Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of experience using Fluor Estimating Systems or five (5) years using industry-recognized estimating systems. Minimum of five (5) years of field experience, preferably in project controls, construction, contracts, estimating, change management, or construction supervision. Demonstrate strong technical ability with communication skills to lead customers to optimum systems and methods. Demonstrate a combination of salesmanship, technical empathy, and skills in estimating tools, construction management, and corporate business management. Demonstrate good writing skills; able to communicate succinctly and with clarity. Knowledgeable about Lump Sum and Cost Reimbursable estimating. Knowledgeable about Self-Perform and Construction Management Execution. Knowledgeable about internal Cost Systems, Progressing Systems, and Project Status Reports. Equal Opportunity
