Senior Data Analyst - Engineering at Fastly. The Product Analytics team is at the forefront of enabling a data driven culture across Fastly’s business. We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our team who is curious, proactive, and passionate about solving complex business problems with data. This role will partner with leadership in Product Operations, Engineering, Finance, Product Management, Product Growth, Business Intelligence, Sales Operations, and others to build the tools and exploratory analyses that empower data driven decisions for the execution of critical engineering and product efforts. What You'll Do
Collaborate and partner with executives, stakeholders, and decision-makers to prioritize, design, and fulfill their data analytics needs for both technical and non-technical audiences. Transform concepts and shape data into a compelling story mapped to business goals and outcomes. Partner with our Cloud Econ team to define, drive, and build the next level of maturity for Cloud Cost Management. Promote and drive a self-service data culture by building self-service dashboards and other tools that enable stakeholders to understand and delve into data for trends and actionable insights. Manage the lifecycle of data projects, from planning through execution and delivery, communicating progress and risks along the way. What We're Looking For
6+ years professional experience in Data Analytics. Experience with data visualization tools (eg. Looker, Tableau, etc). Experience with cloud data warehouse technologies and cloud technologies like Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure, especially processing cloud billing data feeds. Expert Python & SQL user. Hands-on experience building functional and user-friendly data products (data models, dashboards, etc.) for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to collaborate with and manage a variety of stakeholders. A history of putting structure around ambiguity. Nice to Have
Formal education in research statistics, experimental design, data science. Experience with cloud budgets and FinOps. Experience working with engineering & product in a tech organization. Hands-on experience with BigQuery and dbt. Experience presenting to executives and leadership. Ability to independently plan and execute multiple strategic initiatives or research projects. Work Hours
This position will require you to be available during core business hours. Work Location & Travel
This position is open to the following preferred office locations: San Francisco, CA Denver, CO New York, NY Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager. Salary & Benefits
The estimated salary range for this position is $155,370.00 - $186,444.00. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location. This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance. Family planning, mental health support along with Employee Assistance Program, Insurance (Life, Disability, and Accident), a Flexible Vacation policy and up to 18 days of accrued paid sick leave are there to help support our employees.
