Remote, Nationwide – Seeking Emergency Medicine Regional Director. Vituity locations: opportunities at 475 sites across the country, serving 9 million patients a year. You may move without changing jobs. The Opportunity
Work with Medical Directors to review site performance, address problems, and adjust practices to achieve profitability. Accountable for ensuring all sites are solvent. Review monthly site performance reports and ensure problems are corrected. Take charge of or assist MDs in resolving issues with problem payers, AR, etc. Monitor site contributions and organization subsidies. Negotiate managed care contracts affecting sites in the region with Vituity Practice Management staff and VP as needed. Manage debt forgiveness when applicable. Coordinate and lead contract negotiations in the region and resolve issues with payers, managed care organizations, and hospitals. Operate new sites to budget; know incentives and operationalize optimization; ensure contract terms are met. Participate in the entire lifecycle of contract implementation, including the startup phase. Own start-ups, Year One and Hot Spot calls; subsidies approvals may require COO involvement. Accountable for site operational and quality performance. Aid each MD in identifying and correcting operational or financial problems (patient flow, coding, documentation, compliance, productivity). Advise Medical Directors and site management to ensure highest quality medical care across practice lines in the region. Monitor quality metrics for sites and system; strive to exceed them. Identify opportunities for practice line integration to improve quality and efficiency; assist with new service line startups; engage with integrated site RDs. Engage in collaboratives, set the tone, hold MD and SMT accountable. Allocate resources from Vituity Practice Management, Operations Consultants, and Regional Leads for the region. Collaborate with Operations Consultants and Regional Leads on start-up calls and performance improvement initiatives; RD is ultimately responsible for their practice’s performance. Act as the leader for the site in Vituity collaboratives and maintain oversight of site metrics, incentives, and operational processes. Provide leadership for all partners and employees in the region; onboard and mentor Medical Directors and address performance issues timely. Assist MDs with recruiting, onboarding, and acculturation of new providers. Represent Vituity and communicate new policies and procedures; work clinically at struggling sites when appropriate. Commit to inclusivity within Vituity and cultivate equity, inclusion, and fair opportunity; educate, mitigate biases, and address daily exclusion with site leadership. Lead with integrity; ensure compliance requirements are followed; ensure Medical Directors sign off on timecards on time. Support Leadership development and participate in the Leadership Development Program; represent Vituity in regional relationships. Maintain strong C-suite relationships; respond quickly to emails and calls; engage hospital administration and nursing; meet regularly with hospital partners. Foster positive relationships with medical staff and encourage site partners to pursue Chief of Med Staff roles. Serve as a member of the Vituity Regional Director Operations Committee and other workgroups; be prepared to lead in emergencies for Medical Directors. Mentor fellow Regional Directors and site teams; monitor high risk and new sites monthly. Investigate and address partner and provider complaints; lead leadership education and training; participate in divisional meetings; provide regular site-level updates. Ensure onboarding, education, and training of MDs; create and update training materials; identify candidates for leadership pipelines. Identify opportunities for new business and present innovations and service line offerings to clients to strengthen relationships. Manage contract renewal processes and ensure contracting procedures are followed; contribute to new contract terms; facilitate integration of practice lines in startups and existing sites. Meet regularly with RD peers to share challenges and solutions; ensure contract stability and alignment with partnership strategy. Provide feedback to Partnership and CPAC; communicate organizational updates to providers; maintain regular interactions with hospital executives. Ensure Vituity providers understand fiduciary obligations as partners and advocate for the company’s culture and patient-centered mission. Be a Vituity advocate, communicating as an owner of the message, not just a translator. Required Experience And Competencies
Licensed physician (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited medical school with residency completed. Board or national certification required. Current valid DEA certificate for the state of practice. Maintain hospital staff privileges and comply with bylaws, rules, and policies. Physician Partnership status required. Operations management experience (e.g., Medical Director, multi-site management) and medical group clinical work experience. Preference for high-performing medical directors seeking senior leadership. Proactive, solution-minded; strong clinical skills; ability to interpret complex financial data for practice management. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; able to motivate physicians, clinical and non-clinical staff; effective communicator and negotiator. Willingness to travel for executive meetings and region support; may work clinical shifts within regions. The Community
