The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Fighters Programs is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Fighters Mission Systems Avionics Hardware and Production Support Senior Manager to lead the Fighters Mission Avionics and Production Support engineering team from Berkeley, MO.
The Mission Systems Senior Engineering Manager will oversee the capture, development, production, and sustainment of F-15 and F/A-18 avionics equipment including Mission Computers, Mission Processors, Communications, Stores Management Systems, Recorders and integration of various GFE avionics equipment. The candidate will work with USN, USAF, and DCMA customers and suppliers to meet contract requirements and support fleet needs. This role reports to the Fighters Mission Systems Director.
The successful candidate will be a strong leader who is passionate about technical execution, continuous improvement, people development, and have a drive for excellence.
Position Responsibilities
Manage Mission Systems avionics leaders and teammates performing engineering and technical activities in support of Fighters programs capture, development, production, delivery, and sustainment programs
Lead avionics equipment development program execution including requirements development, program reviews, qualification testing, and transition to production/sustainment
Develop and execute integrated plans, policies, processes, and procedures for Mission Systems avionics equipment
Provide technical management of suppliers to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Support production and fleet with issue resolution for delivered hardware and software over the entire product life cycle
Provide experienced technical and programmatic leadership
Support trade study activities and new business proposal campaigns
Perform Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) management
Interface with Fighters Mission Systems leadership and other teams across the enterprise to ensure proper project planning and implementation and incorporation of lessons learned
Interface, communicate, present to senior leadership
Develop and maintain relationships with domestic and international customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
Manage, motivate, and develop employees; acquire new resources for organizational activities
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor of Science from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
5+ years leading and partnering with cross-functional teams
5+ years experience in a fast-paced environment with strong communication with leadership or customers
3 years in a management position or leading engineering teams
Experience with schedule and budget management, logistics integration, customer communication, and program planning execution to meet cost, schedule, and technical baselines
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Experience and knowledge of Mission Systems and Hardware development
Prior experience with Fighters programs portfolio
Experience with engineering integration on production and development programs
Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
Ability to communicate at all management levels with customers and partners
Ability to foster transparency and trust in the team
Leadership to influence positive outcomes
Mentorship and career guidance experience
