Overview

Director of Catering Operations at Tatte Bakery & Cafe leads and grows the catering business across multiple cities, ensuring alignment with Tatte’s brand purpose, mission, values, and DIEB commitments. Reports to the Chief Operating Officer and partners with leadership to deliver exceptional off-premise experiences through catering kitchens and teams. Responsibilities

Provide operational leadership for the catering organization in alignment with Tatte’s brand purpose, mission, brand essence and values. Protect and support Tatte’s brand authority and uphold brand standards across catering operations. Lead, train, coach, motivate, and mentor the catering sales force, field leadership, and kitchen management to deliver the brand experience. Collaborate with L&D and Ops Services to develop and sustain programs that deliver the Tatte catering experience and service excellence. Work with the COO to ensure kitchen standards and quality assurance are maintained; lead ongoing coaching and improvement. Lead menu change rollouts with Catering Kitchen Teams and ensure successful implementations. Coordinate with the Chief People Officer to ensure staffing strategies meet business needs, including recruitment for new openings. Demonstrate strong people management, talent development, succession planning, and performance feedback through one-on-one coaching and appraisals. Diagnose and address opportunities with prioritized action to resolve the most pressing issues. Drive operational performance by implementing scalable systems, processes, and tools that improve team member and guest experiences, using continuous improvement practices. Conduct periodic business reviews with the Catering team to monitor health across team member experience, guest experience, and financial performance; take action when operations are outside guardrails. Ensure food safety across cafes and drive prompt resolution of deviations from standards. Develop multi-year and annual catering initiatives and financial plans. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to coordinate deployments and change management activities. Other duties as assigned. Working Conditions / Essential Functions

Flexible schedule based on business needs (days, nights, weekends, holidays, emergencies). Ability to travel 50%+. Ten-hour-plus shifts with the ability to stand, sit, walk, read, and handle physical tasks as needed; ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Position Requirements

Minimum 5 years of multi-unit experience in full-service and/or polished fast casual restaurants with a strong culinary background (70% culinary focus). Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, feedback-oriented environment. Strong executive presence, business acumen, communication, and presentation skills. Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail. Effective communication, listening, and presentation skills for varied audience sizes. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders who do not report to you and secure their support. Ability to align actions with brand objectives and work independently toward goals and deadlines. Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel). Must reside in Boston or DC Market. Other Preferred Skills

Knowledge of CRM systems and sales team management tools. Minimum 2 years experience in catering operations and sales. Exposure to catering third-party services and vendors. Our Benefits & Perks
