This high visibility role leads all aspects of transportation in North America and oversees warehouse operations for the Canadian business and Luxury brands, coordinating with carrier partners, distribution centers, reverse logistics and destruction activities to build world-class, integrated and efficient programs across the North American network.
Responsibilities Responsible for a $46M annual transportation spend for Beiersdorf North America across all modes of transportation, inbound and outbound, and related processes.
Manage, analyse and report on domestic and international inbound/outbound transportation activities and costs; prepare monthly financial performance versus budget reports.
Oversee carrier performance and compliance, including service and quality standards; manage carrier claims and drive continuous improvement within the department.
Drive optimization and collaboration with key stakeholders to increase efficiencies and on-time service to customers.
Serve as primary demand owner for transportation tenders with a focus on service, cost optimization, simplicity and customer focus.
Oversee Warehouse operations for the Canadian and Luxury Businesses; monitor Distribution Centre performance, costs, and budget alignment.
Participate in warehouse tenders and network analysis; coordinate with stakeholders on Order Management, Planning Forecasts, Quality Compliance, and supporting functions (HR, IT, Finance).
Manage a team of transportation and logistics professionals; supervise, mentor and develop direct reports for growth and expanded scope.
Assist the Director, Logistics in developing NAG Logistics strategy and executing priorities; participate in management meetings to align transportation and DC needs; provide backup as needed.
Support the Logistics Department and stakeholders as a subject-matter expert on initiatives.
All other duties as assigned related to NAG Transportation and Logistics.
Qualifications 7-10 years of management experience in domestic transportation, distribution center operations, or logistics; experience managing carrier and/or 3PL relationships preferred.
BS in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
5+ years' experience with Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, Sea Freight and small package/parcel modes.
Strong knowledge of transportation industry best practices, HazMat regulations, US DOT and Transport Canada regulatory landscape, and CITES processes.
Understanding of Import/Export processes in the US and Canada; working knowledge of importing goods from Mexico, Europe and Asia.
Experience with outsourced transportation management and multiple modes of delivery; ability to operate in a fast-paced, growing organization.
Proven ability to develop and mentor direct reports; advanced computer and analytical skills; SAP experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, written and presentation skills; ability to collaborate cross-functionally; results-driven with a quick-response mentality.
