The role reports to the Vice President – Regulatory, Sustainability & Governance. The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of regulatory strategies for food contact, backpacks, travel gear and packaging. This includes proactively monitoring the evolving regulatory landscape and coordinating initiatives across relevant business units to ensure compliance with applicable regulations across global operations. Identify current and emerging regulations that impact food contact, backpacks, travel gear and packaging. Summarize regulations in actionable terms when emerging/new/updated regulations are identified. Collaborate with stakeholders across business units, regulatory SMEs, compliance teams and in-house legal to analyze regulations, identify compliance risks, assess impacts to the business, and propose compliance strategies. Inform and educate sales, marketing, product development and supply chain leaders; partner with them to propose a strategy to manage regulation. Convene working groups as needed to address regulatory concerns. Collaborate with external regulatory experts, consultants and industry associations to monitor changes, interpret complex requirements, and align with organizational policies. Coordinate reporting on Packaging EPR regulations to relevant jurisdictions (US and Canada). Work with teams to manage regulatory risks around Packaging EPR, including recommending alternative packaging materials and components. Perform other regulatory tasks as assigned. Skills Needed To Be Successful In This Role
Familiarity with chemicals and processes in food contact or packaging materials Exposure to regulatory processes and software used to facilitate compliance Ability to understand and interpret regulatory standards, such as chemical regulations and Packaging EPR Ability to analyze information, draw conclusions and communicate clearly Strong attention to detail Experience in consulting projects and ability to execute recommendations in an in-house setting Excellent verbal and written communication skills Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, preferably Environmental Science or Chemistry 2+ years related experience New college graduates are welcome with a strong understanding of sustainable packaging and chemistry compliance Ability and willingness to travel to other Helen of Troy offices to support business needs Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in food contact/packaging Compensation and Benefits
In Massachusetts, the standard base pay range for this role is $88,541 - $100,000 annually. This base pay range is specific to Massachusetts and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is one component of the total compensation package. Benefits:
