Job Summary
Seeking a highly experienced and certified Senior ASPICE Assessor to join our team. This critical role will be instrumental in driving and ensuring the highest levels of process maturity and quality within our automotive development lifecycle, specifically focusing on achieving and maintaining Automotive SPICE Levels 3.1 and 4. The Senior Assessor will lead comprehensive ASPICE assessments, provide expert guidance for process improvements, conduct detailed gap analyses, and develop and deliver targeted training programs to elevate the team's adherence to ASPICE best practices. Key Responsibilities
ASPICE Assessment and Auditing: Lead and conduct independent Automotive SPICE assessments (both internal and potentially external/supplier-facing) for projects within the HIL Test organization, with a strong focus on achieving and verifying ASPICE 3.1 and 4 maturity levels. ASPICE Assessment and Auditing: Perform comprehensive process audits to verify adherence to established ASPICE processes and identify areas of non-compliance or improvement opportunities. ASPICE Assessment and Auditing: Plan, execute, and report on assessments, ensuring objectivity, consistency, and adherence to recognized assessment methodologies (e.g., ISO/IEC 330xx series). ASPICE Assessment and Auditing: Ensure proper documentation and traceability of assessment findings and action plans. Process Improvement and Gap Analysis: Conduct detailed gap analyses against ASPICE 3.1/4 requirements specifically tailored to HIL testing, software development, and system integration processes. Process Improvement and Gap Analysis: Define, propose, and facilitate the implementation of pragmatic and effective process improvements to close identified gaps, enhance overall process maturity, and streamline workflows within the HIL domain. Process Improvement and Gap Analysis: Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, quality assurance, and project management to embed ASPICE best practices into daily operations and tools. Training and Coaching: Develop, customize, and deliver comprehensive ASPICE training programs tailored to various roles within the HIL Test team, including engineers, test leads, project managers, and quality personnel. Training and Coaching: Provide expert coaching and mentoring to teams and individuals on ASPICE principles, work product creation, process adherence, and effective implementation strategies. Training and Coaching: Foster a proactive culture of quality, continuous improvement, and ASPICE awareness across the organization. Process Definition and Documentation: Contribute to the definition, development, and maintenance of Ford's internal automotive development processes, ensuring alignment with Automotive SPICE v3.1/v4.0, ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), and other relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434 for Automotive Cybersecurity). Process Definition and Documentation: Ensure process documentation is clear, concise, accessible, and effectively communicated to all stakeholders. Stakeholder Management and Reporting: Communicate assessment findings, recommendations, and progress effectively to senior management, project teams, and relevant stakeholders. Stakeholder Management and Reporting: Track and report on ASPICE maturity levels, process improvement initiatives, and the overall health of the quality management system within the HIL Test team. Stakeholder Management and Reporting: Act as a subject matter expert and primary point of contact for all ASPICE-related inquiries within the HIL Test organization. HIL Specific Context: Apply deep understanding of ASPICE principles specifically within the context of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, including requirements management, architectural design, software unit testing, integration testing, system testing, test case design, test execution, defect management, and configuration management for HIL environments. HIL Specific Context: Ensure robust traceability from customer requirements through HIL test specifications, test cases, and results. Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical field. Experience
Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience
in automotive software/system development, quality assurance, process improvement, or a similar role. Proven, hands-on experience in conducting and
leading Automotive SPICE assessments
for complex embedded systems. Demonstrable track record of driving significant process improvements and successfully guiding teams towards higher ASPICE maturity levels (ideally up to Level 3 or 4). Strong understanding of HIL testing methodologies, test automation, and related automotive validation processes. Certifications
Certified Automotive SPICE Provisional Assessor (v3.1 or v4.0) is mandatory. Certified Automotive SPICE Competent Assessor (v3.1 or v4.0) is highly preferred. Technical Skills
In-depth knowledge of Automotive SPICE v3.1 and familiarity with the upcoming v4.0. Solid understanding of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) principles and their application in automotive development. Proficiency with relevant tools for requirements management (e.g., IBM DOORS Next Generation, Polarion), configuration management (e.g., PTC Windchill, Git), change management (e.g., Jira), and test management (e.g., Azure DevOps, HP ALM). Demonstrated ability to create and deliver impactful technical training materials and presentations. Preferred Qualifications
Experience working directly with HIL test benches, simulators, and associated software/hardware components (e.g., dSPACE, ETAS, Vector VT System). Knowledge of Agile development methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) in an automotive context and how they integrate with ASPICE. Familiarity with cybersecurity standards such as ISO/SAE 21434. Experience working in a global, matrixed organization. Additional certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, Certified Quality Engineer). Additional Skills
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
