Regularly tackle the largest and most complex problems on the team, from technical design to launch. Partner across engineering teams to take on company-wide initiatives spanning multiple projects. Routinely tackle complex architecture challenges and apply architectural standards, starting with new projects. Work with senior engineering and product leaders to build strategy and design solutions that earn customers’ trust and drive business results. Lead a large team of Principals to tackle broad, technically complex problems with a platform mindset. Collaborate across departments, linking technical solutions to business objectives and maintaining operational quality. Team Context
Your Future Team: Cloud Access & Intelligence focuses on Unified Identity & Access Management (unifying identity and access management for Atlassian products) and Smart Portfolio of Agents (creating a suite of agents to boost productivity for Support Engineers, Administrators, and other personas). Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent. 10+ years of experience as a senior Software Engineer. 5+ years of experience as a Technical Lead for a team of engineers. Experience with building scalable platforms. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence decision-making, and drive strategic initiatives across departments. Proven ability and experience in being innovative with measurable outcomes. Strong leadership skills for driving technical roadmaps, mentoring senior engineers, and leading design reviews. Experience in consulting is beneficial for managing multiple projects and driving tradeoffs. Ability to tackle ambiguous and complex problems creatively while maintaining high technical standards. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Identity Access Management Solutions is highly valued. Experience with AI/ML and Generative AI is highly valuable. Qualifications
Compensation
At Atlassian, we design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. The baseline of our range is higher than the typical market range, and we hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is determined by a candidate’s skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, base pay ranges for new hires are: Zone A: $239,400 - $312,550 Zone B: $216,000 - $282,000 Zone C: $198,900 - $259,675 This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
