Location: California Pacific Medical Center Davies (CPMC) Responsibilities
Integrate knowledge, theory and training to properly execute procedures in assigned areas of the laboratory. Receive, prepare, distribute, store, and dispose of specimens and materials. Register patient visits and enter billing records as required. Clean, stock, and perform routine maintenance; support Pathology personnel and pathologists during consultations, postmortem examinations, and routine testing. Provide customer service and assistance to clients, pathologists, patients, researchers, and other members of the patient care team. Support pre-analytic and post-analytic processes to aid diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of disease. Collaborate with physicians, clients, and staff to promote high-quality patient care and maintain professional conduct. Qualifications
Education: HS Diploma or GED. Typical Experience: 1 year of recent relevant experience. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of standard principles, procedures, views, and equipment related to handling of chemicals, pathogens, and infectious agents. Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. Written and verbal communication to explain sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences. Time management and organization; ability to prioritize within SOPs and scientific methods. General computer skills (Microsoft Office) and laboratory information systems (LIS), electronic health records (EHR), and EPIC. Ability to work independently and as part of a team; manage multiple tasks with interruptions. Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems using established options. Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI). Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve objectives. Job Details
Job Shift: Varied Schedule: Full Time Shift Hours: 8 Days of the Week: Monday - Friday Weekend Requirements: Rotating Weekends Benefits: Yes Unions: No Position Status: Non-Exempt Weekly Hours: 40 Employee Status: Regular Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans. Pay Range is $35.24 to $44.04 per hour. The salary range may vary by location and is not adjusted for geographic differentials. Compensation includes base pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
