Responsibilities and Expectations The prime focus will be examining, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for infections and injuries of the teeth and mouth. Carrying out the treatment plan in a competent and efficient manner.
Tasks
Examine teeth, gums, and related tissues, using dental instruments, x-rays, or other diagnostic equipment.
Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, or malformations of teeth, gums, or related oral structures and provide preventive or corrective services.
Advise and instruct patients regarding preventive dental care, the causes and treatment of dental problems, and oral health care services.
Perform the specific procedures which the applicant is expected to be proficient in and expected to perform: amalgam and composite restorations, root canal therapy, extraction of erupted teeth and roots either routinely or surgically, crown and bridge restorations, fabrication of partials and dentures, prophylaxis, periodontal scaling and root planing.
Provide clinical supervision to the Registered Dental Hygienists.
Exercise direct supervision of the dental assistants, hygienists, and students.
Participate in quality improvement activities, including development of clinical forms and protocols and attendance at quality assurance/quality improvement meetings.
Occasionally, other appropriate duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills
An interest in treating less fortunate, needy patients. Providing emergency, preventive, and basic restorative care.
Graduate from an accredited Dental School (DDS/DMD).
DEA license.
CPR certification.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
License and Experience
License: Dentistry (Required)
Experience: New Graduates welcomed to apply.
