Purpose of the Role

The Field Engineer I provides technical support for construction and engineering projects, contributing to Worley’s mission of delivering sustainable change. This entry‑level role involves assisting in the preparation and review of designs, calculations, cost estimates, and material lists to ensure projects meet established codes, standards, and specifications. The position offers the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in field engineering within a global organization committed to accelerating the transition to more sustainable energy sources while continuing to deliver the resources the world depends on.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and adjusting simple plans, designs, plots, calculations, cost estimates, and bills of materials in compliance with project specifications and standards.

Support routine technical surveys, inspections, and field assessments, preparing reports to document findings and ensure construction aligns with design requirements.

Review completed construction tasks to confirm adherence to drawings, codes, and established engineering specifications.

Collaborate with supervisors, peers, and site teams to resolve basic technical issues and support project delivery.

Apply engineering principles and company processes to assigned tasks, gaining exposure to multidisciplinary project execution in the field.

Maintain accurate records and documentation to support project reporting, decision‑making, and compliance.

Actively contribute to a strong safety culture by following site health, safety, and environmental requirements in all activities.

Develop knowledge of project systems, tools, and methodologies while contributing to continuous improvement in project delivery.

Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors to provide updates, share observations, and confirm alignment on assigned tasks.

Qualifications / Skillset

University degree in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent trade qualification with relevant training and field‑based experience.

Foundational knowledge of engineering principles, construction processes, and industry standards, with an eagerness to apply academic preparation to real‑world projects.

Familiarity with technical drawing interpretation, material take‑offs, and basic engineering calculations.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to accuracy and detail.

Ability to use Microsoft Office applications; exposure to CAD tools, engineering software, or project systems is advantageous.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team‑based environment.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage routine tasks and follow established procedures.
