Psychiatric Emergency Screening Services Psychiatrist & Medical Director – Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a PESS psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director at Clara Maass Medical Center. The role involves coordinating medical staff and clinical staffing activities, performing direct patient care within the Psychiatric Emergency Screening Service sites, and providing clinical support for the Inpatient Unit and Short‑Term Care Facility as needed. The director will lead team meetings, oversee treatment planning, manage disposition, and fulfill all certifying requirements. This position offers an opportunity for psychiatrists to continue practicing in an inpatient setting while advancing program delivery. Responsibilities
Coordinate medical staff and clinical staffing activities across PESS sites. Deliver direct patient care within the Psychiatric Emergency Screening Service sites. Provide clinical support to the Inpatient Unit and Short‑Term Care Facility. Lead team meetings, treatment planning, and patient disposition. Ensure compliance with all certifying and department requirements. Qualifications
ABPN board‑certified in Adult Psychiatry. New Jersey licensed or eligible for licensure in NJ. Ideally experienced working in an inpatient setting. High energy, adaptable, and able to work effectively on a team. Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $315,000 to $505,000 per year, dependent on educational background, skills, and professional experience.
