Job Title Operations Site Manager
Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of the depot(s) and provide daily support to Operations managers, supervisors in hauling, routing, labor planning, productivity tracking, and disposal activities.
Supervise, train, and evaluate site personnel, including drivers, helpers, operations supervisors and dispatchers.
Develop and implement operational procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
Ensure safety and DOT compliance of personnel reporting to the location, including OSHA and DOT compliance.
Partner with Safety to review incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions for injuries and incidents (motor vehicle, property damage, environmental spills).
Oversee personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, disciplining, training, and evaluating employee performance; provide input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions in line with applicable agreements.
Communicate with Customer Service and Sales as needed.
Participate in regular P&L reviews to ensure budgets are met; develop and implement programs for optimal equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and efficient labor and material costs.
Conduct monthly safety meetings and training; promote a “safety before schedule” mindset throughout operations.
Perform site inspections and address facility issues in a timely manner.
Ensure quarterly random drug screening is performed and conduct fleet inspections (Fleet Walk).
Be responsible for route optimization and interact with local city, municipal, and county agencies to ensure customer satisfaction, improve efficiency, renew contracts, and negotiate new contracts.
Prepare regular reports on site performance, safety, incidents, and compliance status.
Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of work experience (in addition to education requirements) in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations, including coaching, routing assessments, and leading employees.
Associate’s degree (accredited) or, in lieu of a degree, high school diploma or GED with 2 years of relevant work experience.
3+ years of supervisory experience.
Ability to handle employee grievances and conduct investigations.
Prior experience in environmental services is a plus.
Experience with fleet management and heavy equipment operations.
Experience overseeing business plans, developing and tracking budgets.
Data-driven decision making and leadership across a matrix organization.
Experience implementing safety (OSHA) programs and equipment specifications.
Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and to motivate others to achieve results.
Proven experience meeting business commitments, driving change, and implementing process improvements.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines; analytical and critical thinking abilities.
Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Experience managing labor relations in a unionized environment.
Excellent computer skills with the ability to handle multiple programs and systems.
Effective written and verbal communication via email, phone, and 2-way devices.
Willingness to learn the company’s software applications (Samsara, Tower, Routeware, Power BI, SharePoint, etc.).
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional holidays.

Salary Range: Minimum USD 130,000.00/Yr; Maximum USD 165,000.00/Yr.
