Health Service Specialist (Safety) - Central Nursing Services

Under the administrative and clinical direction of the Assistant Coordinator of Nursing Services, the Health Services Specialist is responsible for the ongoing monitoring, assessing, and making of recommendations for the maintenance of quality nursing services with primary emphasis on the physical care needs of patients in a program on an assigned shift; assures education and training in nursing care is provided to unit personnel; and, performs other related duties.

Assures the utilization of nursing process in providing nursing care. Assists unit staff in the implementation of Administrative Directives, Nursing Policies and Procedures, Special Orders, Licensing, Joint Commission, and Title 22 requirements.

Responds to life threatening emergency situations and takes appropriate action, including safe and effective utilization of medical equipment following DSH-Napa's policies and procedures.

Actively fosters a culture of collaboration by building positive relationships with colleagues across disciplines, openly sharing information, and contributing ideas to achieve common goals and improve patient care outcomes.

Demonstrates a steadfast commitment to upholding and advocating the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of DSH-Napa, by integrating these principles into all aspects of professional practice.

Qualifications and Requirements

Possession of the legal requirements to practice as a professional Registered Nurse in California.

Education required to meet the minimum qualifications will require proof of degree and/or transcript submitted with application STD 678.

Foreign transcripts must be evaluated and submitted with application STD 678.

Duties Performed and Supervisor’s name and Contact information must be completed on the STD 678 - Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Possession of the legal requirements to practice as a professional Registered Nurse in California.
