Project Manager, Continuous Improvement
with a strong production background to manage low to mid-level programs and/or serve as a Deputy Production Program Manager on complex programs transitioning from development to production. The candidate will lead cross-functional teams and guide improvements to the overall Manufacturing process during transitions such as Pilot Builds, Low Rate and Full Rate Production, while demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills. As the Production Program Efficiency Analyst, you will have responsibilities for overall program execution, working with Government and Commercial customers. Production product lines include RF seekers, sensors, target detection devices, electronic warfare systems, and datalinks. The ideal candidate will have lean manufacturing, process optimization, and cross-functional project leadership experience within regulated environments such as DoD programs.
Responsibilities
Establish baseline funding, spend plan, and a high-level milestone-based schedule at project kickoff
Track project execution spending and milestone completion against baselined spending and milestone plan
Work with technical staff to establish a low-level task-based schedule versus proposed spend plan
Lead initiatives to identify process inefficiencies and implement corrective actions across projects and production lines
Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, logistics, and program management teams to streamline project workflows
Analyze production data, KPIs, and project milestones to assess performance and recommend efficiency improvements
Drive implementation of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies
Facilitate root cause analyses (RCA) and corrective action plans (CAP) to address delays or process defects
Develop visual management tools, dashboards, and standard work instructions to increase transparency and accountability
Work closely with the program staff to ensure schedules are maintained to meet customer objectives and milestones
Manage customer expectations regarding cost, schedule, and technical aspects of the program
Report health and status of active projects during internal project reviews and customer briefs
Cross-functional leadership to ensure designs meet customer requirements, delivery dates, and milestone objectives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience or master’s degree and 3+ years of experience in project/program management; in lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience in project management
5+ years of experience with Lean Six Sigma
Experience in high-volume, high-mix production environments
Experience creating value stream maps
Data-driven decision-making to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness
Proven track record of identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives
Experience in vendor or subcontractor management
Preferred Qualifications
PMP Certification
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt with data-driven process optimization
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to create PowerPoint briefings, Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and schedules using Project
Self-motivated, passionate, and able to assume a leadership role
Experience with electronics or PWA respins
Experience in production/manufacturing operations and DoD supply chain management
Experience with RF, Radar, Counter UAS, or ISR operations
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and maximize productivity
