DESCRIPTION Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, Software Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following:

Python

Java and Java related frameworks including Java Spring Framework

Utilizing tools such as Jira or Jira Align to execute projects in Agile methodologies

Using REST principles, including statelessness, resource-based URLs, HTTP methods, and status codes which are used to implement Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) through which data can be exchanged over a set of protocols

API Security authentication and authorization mechanisms including OAuth, JWT, and API keys

Utilizing JSON and XML for data interchange

Versioning APIs and creating documentation using tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI

Using API testing tools such as Postman or Insomnia

Deploying APIs using AWS API Gateway; serverless computing using AWS Lambda for API requests; securing APIs with AWS Identity and Access Management; using AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure as code; utilizing AWS DynamoDB for serverless databases; storing and serving static assets with Amazon S3; monitoring API activity using AWS CloudWatch; user authentication and authorization with AWS Cognito; using AWS SDKs for interacting with AWS services programmatically; AWS networking concepts, including VPC, subnets, and security groups; utilizing CI/CD pipelines and tools such as AWS CodePipeline and AWS CodeBuild; integrating microservices with APIs; and optimizing API performance, including caching strategies and rate limiting
