ESI serves over 361 post-acute care operations across 17 states, including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and other ancillary service providers. These operations are supported by the Service Center, a centralized resource team that provides legal, human resources, training, accounting, information technology and other services to enable on-site leaders and caregivers to focus on day-to-day care and business issues. About The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Attorney to support the Managed Care Contracting process throughout its entire life cycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and managing managed care contracts, ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, and facilitating collaboration between internal departments and external stakeholders. This is a key role in supporting our organization’s managed care strategy and fostering strong relationships with payers and providers. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate managed care contracts across the full contract life cycle Be a culture leader who models and teaches our unique culture across the organization Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and business risks in managed care agreements Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies Draft, file, and argue hearings and briefs before Federal and State regulatory bodies Collaborate with internal stakeholders (legal, finance, compliance, operations, clinical teams) to align contract terms with organizational strategy Serve as a legal advisor and subject matter expert for managed care contracting issues Maintain strong working relationships with payers, providers, and external partners Manage contract amendments, renewals, and terminations efficiently and effectively Partner with internal and external litigation counsel regarding case strategy Support the organization’s managed care strategy by providing insights and recommendations to leadership Provide advice and counsel on the application and interpretation of health care laws, Medicare/Medicaid regulations and related State and Federal laws governing the post-acute care setting Professional Qualifications

5+ years of experience practicing law, with significant exposure to managed care and healthcare contracting J.D. from an accredited institution Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (active and in good standing) Strong background in drafting and negotiating complex agreements Familiarity with healthcare regulations (e.g., federal and state insurance laws, Medicare/Medicaid, HIPAA) Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, with a strong team orientation Ability to give clear direction and produce outstanding results Professional demeanor and executive presence Personal Characteristics

This role can be based at one of our service centers in CA, AZ, UT or TX Salary:

$185,000 - $205,000; may be eligible for bonus.
