Position Summary
The Director, AI and Digital Transformation will be responsible for developing and leading the digital technology strategy for all supporting functions (including finance, operations, HR, legal, etc.) and business segments at Balchem. This role requires aligning technology initiatives with business objectives, promoting innovation, and achieving results through effective digital strategies. The individual will work with functional teams to design and implement strategic plans that facilitate technology deployment and adoption to increase enterprise value. The role also maintains an enterprise-wide view to integrate local needs with broader organizational outcomes and participates in Balchem’s AI Governance Process, contributing to the execution of corporate AI strategy and maintaining oversight as part of the organization’s AI governance.
Essential Functions
Strategic Planning & Alignment Collaborate with senior executives and functional teams to incorporate digital technologies, data analytics, and AI into Balchem’s organization.
Data & AI Vision Execution Develop and implement Balchem’s AI strategy.
Automation & AI Tools Oversee the introduction of automation and AI-based tools to minimize manual work.
Product Management Leadership Manage the product lifecycle for digital AI solutions, including ideation, roadmap creation, stakeholder coordination, and ongoing improvements. Prioritize initiatives based on projected benefits and alignment with Balchem’s goals. Monitor initiative delivery to ensure adherence to timelines, scope, and measurable objectives.
Use Case Development & ROI Articulation Determine potential use cases for digital transformation and AI within the organization. Conduct ROI assessments to inform stakeholders and support investment decisions.
AI-Driven Process Optimization Utilize AI and machine learning to analyze and enhance business processes, reduce manual tasks, improve productivity, and optimize customer interactions.
Change Management & Adoption Leadership Lead change management efforts across the enterprise to encourage the adoption of new technologies. Work with functional teams to provide training, communication, and support systems that maintain value.
Risk & Compliance Oversight Offer guidance regarding risks and advantages associated with digital and AI technologies to continuously enhance Balchem’s AI Use Policy. Ensure all activities comply with established Balchem AI Use policies.
Performance Measurement & Reporting Set and monitor KPIs to assess the effectiveness of digital and AI initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement & Ecosystem Collaboration Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to promote cross-functional cooperation and innovation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, information technology, business, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
Experience implementing enterprise-scale AI or digitalization projects preferred.
Proven success guiding organizations through complex change management and digital adoption.
Commitment to continuous improvement, with the ability to adapt strategies and approaches in response to emerging technologies and evolving best practices.
Strong communication and storytelling skills to articulate AI’s impact to diverse audiences.
This role will be based out of Montvale, NJ, at Balchem’s corporate headquarters. Salary range is $150,000–$180,000, plus bonus opportunity.
