As a
Senior Structural Engineer , you will take on one-of-a-kind projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The
Senior Structural Engineer
will often manage multiple efforts simultaneously while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team. This role offers the chance to deliver cutting-edge structural solutions for high-profile clients worldwide.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage structural engineers and drafters through all phases of planning, design, execution, and construction
Deliver complete design solutions from initial concept to final construction
Apply appropriate design loads in compliance with building and design codes
Perform structural analysis and design using hand calculations and finite element analysis software (STAAD and/or ANSYS preferred)
Develop comprehensive engineering calculation packages, including static, dynamic, blast, vibration, and thermal stress analyses
Oversee the creation of 3D models and 2D construction drawings by designers and drafters
Prepare detailed construction bid packages, including calculations, specifications, and drawings
Support post-design activities such as reviewing subcontractor submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings, as well as conducting site inspections
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
Collaborate with clients and multi-disciplinary teams through presentations, reports, studies, design reviews, and training sessions
Contribute to project planning, cost estimating, proposal development, project management, and business development efforts
Work both independently and as part of cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Requirements
US Citizenship required due to federal project requirements
BS or MS degree in Civil, Structural, or a related engineering field
10+ years of progressive structural design experience (PE license preferred)
Strong knowledge of IBC, AISC, ACI, and ASCE codes
Proficiency in finite element modeling (STAAD, ANSYS, or equivalent)
Experience designing structures subject to dynamic and blast loading; familiarity with UFC codes is a plus
Experience with ANSYS and/or ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code highly desirable
Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding small teams of engineers and drafters
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Project management and marketing experience on small projects a plus
Additional Information Primarily office-based (up to 90% computer work). Occasional site visits (about 15%) may involve lifting, climbing, or crawling. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required during site work. Travel may be needed for site inspections and client meetings. Regular schedule: Mon–Thu 7:30 am–5:15 pm, Fri 7:30 am–11:30 am. Occasional overtime to meet project deadlines. Employment requires passing a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
