Principal Lighting Engineer

WSP in the U.S. WSP is seeking a Lighting Team Leader to support the Lighting and Energy Solutions team within the Highway sector. The role is based in the UK offices (Birmingham or Southampton) with consideration for other UK offices; the successful candidate will work on highway lighting projects and related deliverables. Responsibilities

Lead projects and teams in highway lighting, with the ability to manage pricing prospects and deliver projects. Produce bespoke deliverables for projects and guidance documents to support the continued development of the wider team. Support a range of projects for clients in major public and private sector organisations. Provide technical guidance and leadership in road lighting design and electrical principles. Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes. Experience and Skills (Desirable but not essential)

Experience with highways lighting and familiarity with all stages of project development. Leadership experience in projects and teams; ability to operate in a management capacity. Knowledge of road lighting design and electrical principles. Experience with AutoCAD, Lighting Reality, and ElectricalOM (or similar electrical design software) is desirable but not essential. What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate

Achieved IEng/CEng. Those with EngTech working towards IEng are also welcomed. Experience in leading lighting and/or electrical design development with people management experience. Asset management; risk awareness (CDM and financial risk) and ability to mitigate accordingly. Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment and plan work effectively. Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, technical, and communication skills. Familiarity with relevant British Standards and guidance documents applicable to lighting and electrical works.
