Facilities Manager
to join our team and play a vital role in supporting our emergency services personnel by ensuring all department facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Position Summary The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of all fire department buildings and grounds. This includes developing preventative maintenance programs, conducting repairs, coordinating contractors, managing capital improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety codes and regulations. This position supports SACFD’s operations and ensures our facilities meet the needs of our firefighters and staff, 24/7. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations of all SACFD facilities, including maintenance and repairs. Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules for HVAC, lighting, plumbing, fire safety systems, and more. Conduct and coordinate facility inspections, including elevators, fire extinguishers, and building systems. Perform light repairs including plumbing, painting, carpentry, and HVAC tasks. Coordinate snow removal efforts with station captains and training center staff. Assist with contractor management, project coordination, and obtaining repair quotes. Prepare and manage facility-related budgets, capital improvement projects, and permit documentation. Maintain records of maintenance, expenses, and compliance documentation. Be available 24/7 by phone for facility emergencies or weather-related needs. Ensure all facilities adhere to safety and security protocols. Maintain effective communication and relationships across all levels of the department. Physically demanding role requiring frequent lifting, bending, climbing, and equipment handling. Work in extreme temperatures (below 20°F and above 100°F). May involve high mental or emotional stress during emergencies or urgent repairs. On-call availability required for after-hours facility emergencies or snow removal. Minimum Qualifications and Certification Requirements
Required Qualifications High school diploma or G.E.D. Minimum
10 years’ experience
in facility or construction management. Technical knowledge of building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing) and fire safety systems. A valid Colorado driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficient in computer software used for project management and reporting. Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently. Willingness to work outdoors and indoors in varying conditions and temperatures. Able to lift/move up to 25 lbs frequently, and up to 100 lbs occasionally. Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Construction Management, or related field. Experience in municipal or emergency services facility maintenance is a plus. Supplemental Information
