Overview

Project Engineer position at Vogt Power International Inc. located in Louisville, KY. Vogt Power International designs, manufactures and supplies equipment and solutions to the power generation industry, specializing in heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) with domestic and international customers. The Project Engineer is responsible for project engineering coordination across the department, including project development, execution, requisition review, and technical evaluations of bought-out equipment. This role manages engineering schedules, provides man-hour forecasts and budgets on assigned projects, and acts as the technical manager of the project, communicating technical issues with the Project Manager and the Customer. The position involves customer visits and supporting project kickoff meetings and site walks as necessary. Essential Responsibilities

Project Technical Leader: manage the technical aspect of assigned projects during contract execution. Provide on-site support to vendors and manufacturing when necessary to ensure project success. Understand and interpret specification requirements to ensure they are met during project execution. Customer Liaison: lead technical contact for the customer on assigned projects; all technical correspondence flows through and is reviewed by the Project Engineer. Formulate and present all RFIs to the customer for quick resolution to meet schedule requirements. Advise customer on impacts of change requests. Scheduling, Forecasting and Budget Analysis: maintain a project’s engineering schedule by coordinating tasks with Discipline Managers and project team personnel. Develop and maintain project man-hour forecasts. Report progress to upper management and provide recovery plans for areas where the schedule is behind. Document Control: manage the Document Control Automation Program (DCAP) for the project; process incoming vendor and customer documents; ensure proper review; coordinate outgoing submittals; manage the Master Document List (MDL) of customer submittals. Administrative: develop and coordinate project O&M manuals; participate in and maintain meeting minutes; collaborate with other PEs to improve cost, quality or efficiency by revising procedures, work instructions or templates. Sales/Innovation: represent the Engineering Department internally and externally as directed, including travel; facilitate required design improvements/innovation projects based on customer inputs; review sales proposals, RFQs, schedules and technical reports. Qualifications and Skills

B.S. in mechanical, chemical, or metallurgical Engineering or closely related field. Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of company standards and applications. Desirable knowledge of codes (ASME, NBIC, B31.1, etc.) including product application. Working knowledge of HRSG or boiler operations, design philosophy, principles, and their application details. Minimum five (5) years of related industry experience. Must have valid passport and be able to travel when required. Must be resourceful, organized, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and respond quickly to requests. The base pay range for this Project Engineer role is $88,000 - $140,000 annually.
