Overview
Datacenter Technician role at TEKsystems. This is a fully onsite position in Sunnyvale, CA.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot a variety of servers and isolate the problem the server is encountering.
Order replacement parts and install them in servers, then ship the defective part back to its vendor.
Update firmware on servers to ensure the latest version is installed.
Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
Assist network admins with issues ranging from cable replacement/re-routing, replacing optics on server and switch ports, and installing upgraded parts; support DC/Lab teams.
Temporarily rack and stack a server or switch in a cabinet so the network admin can remotely log in and run configurations.
Assist network admins with requests for specific server or switch assistance.
Assist with Level 1 responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
Data center, Rack and stack, Linux, Cabling, Hardware troubleshooting, Racking, Data center maintenance.
Experience with troubleshooting hardware and resolving server-related issues; ability to troubleshoot independently and isolate logical issues using Linux.
Entry level position; willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Details
Pay range: $35.00/hr (fixed).
