CDM Smith is hiring Automation and Instrumentation & Controls Engineers. We have multiple openings to support public, private, and federal clients locally and around the world with all phases of SCADA automation projects. Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, design basic to highly complex instrumentation, controls and related systems using 3D and 4D drafting programs. Develop basic technical memoranda and prepare preliminary design reports (PDRs) under supervision. Review component-level shop drawings; respond to RFIs under supervision; perform field acceptance testing (FATs) and field inspections. Under limited supervision, create basic to highly complex HMI designs, PLCs, reports, etc.; prepare level of effort estimates (LOEs). Lead testing and startup teams for basic to moderately complex instrumentation and related systems with minimal supervision; ensure testing and startup documentation and QA filings are completed. Assist with development of operations & maintenance manuals for designed instrumentation, controls and related systems. Develop system training for end users under minimal supervision. Lead teams and mentor junior staff; review junior staff work as necessary. Assist with proposal development and presentations. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related discipline. Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer). 5 years of related experience. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Travel frequency depends on duties and project demands. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Water/Wastewater highly preferred. Experience within an Engineering and/or an integration firm highly preferred. Other Details
