MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST I role at Cook County Health. Neurology / Neurophysiology Laboratory responsibilities include neurophysiology tests and related duties under the supervision of the Medical Director of the Neurophysiology Laboratory. Responsibilities

Performs electroencephalograms (EEGs) and evoked potential (EP) studies on adults and children Performs clinical video recording including video-EEG studies Assists physician performance of seizure induction studies, electromyograms (EMGs), and Botulinum toxin (Botox) injections Maintains laboratory records including monthly activity reports Monitors laboratory supplies and issues monthly inventory reports Keeps a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment Understands and follows infection control guidelines and protocols Assists in patient registration, phone management, appointment scheduling, and physician reminders, as required Assists in laboratory Quality Improvement initiatives Maintains current laboratory and computer skills Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED certificate Prior experience as a Neurophysiology laboratory technician Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

Knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and practices of Medical Technologist work in a hospital or healthcare setting Knowledge of electroencephalography, electromyography, evoked potentials, and intraoperative monitoring Knowledge and ability to maintain neurophysiology laboratory equipment and address minor repairs Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a diverse patient population Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills Analytical, organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking and conflict management/resolution skills Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic medical records Additional Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

This position operates in a healthcare environment.
