About the Position
Pond is seeking an experienced Transmission Line Engineer (PE) to join our growing Energy team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience and a passion for growth and collaboration. In this role, you will support our Power Services program, delivering projects for clients across the United States and expanding your expertise in transmission and substation design. We are looking for a licensed Professional Engineer who is a self-starter and can work independently within a multidisciplinary environment. Job Responsibilities
Apply knowledge of transmission line design materials to generate framing drawings, load and dimension drawings, and bills of materials Design transmission line projects using industry-recognized software such as AutoCAD / Civil 3D, FAD Tools, and PLS-CADD Create drawings and specifications for transmission line construction Perform electrical calculations for transmission line system design and studies (Insulation Coordination, OPGW Analysis, Grounding, Line Loss, etc.) Coordinate with internal project managers and other disciplines to ensure project success Prepare engineering deliverables, including contract documents and technical studies Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and best practices Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements Assist with equipment specifications, bid evaluations, and procurement Manage multiple projects simultaneously Travel to client sites and industry conferences as needed Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) 5+ years of experience in transmission line design Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required (with ability to obtain reciprocity in other states as needed) Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and design software (PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Seniority level
