Role Details The Account Director is seen by clients as an equal peer and collaborative partner, providing insight, inspiration, and counsel on business and marketing goals. As a trusted advisor, you are the person senior clients want alongside them when making decisions and developing marketing plans. You work with a small team of more junior account managers to successfully serve a portfolio of clients.
Broad Responsibilities
Oversee account portfolio and strategy, offering insights to senior-level client contacts; involve in high-touch/strategic initiatives and influence during key decision points.
Ensure strategic success in project outcomes through account management, client relationship management, and collaboration with internal strategists; enforce timelines and align on scope, deliverables, and budget.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate subject matter expertise into strategic initiatives and client solutions; foster a positive, productive work environment.
Provide mentorship and guidance to more junior account teammates.
Utilize knowledge of digital marketing offerings, agency services, and industry trends to ensure high-quality output across creative, media, and production initiatives; help establish KPIs and strategies for success.
Understand client dynamics, navigate internal processes, and influence business movement within the agency.
Develop expertise in clients’ industries to inform long-term account strategy.
Drive the agency’s organic account growth strategy and execute comprehensive growth plans for all clients.
Drive thought leadership within the account management team and the agency.
What You Need
8+ years of agency account management experience
Superior communication and relationship-management skills from Director to C-Suite
Strong knowledge of digital marketing and advertising; experience with website and media projects is preferred
Experience developing strategic initiatives and marketing plans
Experience brainstorming with a team for creative ideation
Experience with both B2B and B2C brands, including healthcare, finance, and other regulated industries
Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and demands

Location and Work Model Our roles are typically open to remote candidates authorized to work in the U.S., with a strong preference for candidates in or near our Midwest footprint. Offices are in Louisville, KY; Cincinnati, OH; Indianapolis, IN; Chicago, IL. Onsite time and periodic travel for client meetings, collaboration sessions, production work, pitches, and team gatherings are expected. Our hybrid work model is core to delivering impact.
