Overview and Responsibilities
CBS Newspath is seeking an Associate Producer with a strong commitment to journalism to coordinate news production and newsgathering operations for its overnight Desk team. The ideal candidate must have experience in working with sources to confirm and verify facts and video elements, especially during breaking news. The Associate Producer must be familiar with all major social media platforms and vehicles for engaging audiences on a digital level, including Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, and YouTube. They should be well-versed in social-friendly videos (including rights & clearances) and possess excellent people/customer service skills. The position includes overnight and weekend responsibilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manage the network's response to breaking news and respond to video and editorial requests from CBS broadcasts, owned stations, affiliates, and clients. Clip and publish Newspath video and scripts and assist in the transmission and distribution of live video, edited video, and correspondent packages. Gather elements producers need to assemble packages and vo/sot segments for the biggest stories of the day. Spot viral and pre-trending content and turn it around for the brand. Basic Qualifications
3+ years local and/or network TV news experience or show producer experience preferred. Strong editorial judgment and excellent writing skills. Strong editing skills required; Avid experience preferred. Focus on multi-media content is required. Additional Qualifications
Requires highly developed relationship-building skills. Ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic, quickly-changing environment. Understanding TV newsgathering and transmission technology. Knowledge of regional television markets and station relationships is a plus. Degree in broadcast journalism or related field preferred. What We Offer
