Overview

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Supports the execution and continuous improvement of data governance matters by configuring, maintaining, and enhancing the tools, technologies, and processes required to manage data effectively. Facilitates technical enablement of data governance principles, including metadata management, data lineage, data quality, classification, and stewardship enablement. Works closely with internal and technical teams to ensure data-related policies, standards, and controls are effectively implemented across the organization. Essential functions

Configures and maintains metadata repositories, data catalogs, and data governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview) with accurate data. Enables automation of governance workflows, including role-based access controls, metadata harvesting, data quality monitoring, and policy enforcement through scripting or low-code/no-code tools. Implements data classification and tagging mechanisms based on approved data governance policies. Develops and maintains technical documentation to support data lineage, business glossaries, and data quality rules. Identifies improvement opportunities and recommends enhancements to governance frameworks and tooling. Works closely with data stewards and data owners to translate business metadata into technical metadata structures. Assists in the integration of governance tools with enterprise platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Fabric, Azure, Power BI). Participates in the compliance and monitoring of data quality, privacy, and security standards. Supports audits by ensuring the availability and accuracy of data governance-related evidence as requested. Evaluates data governance tool performance and participates in tool selection processes, including Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) development, vendor evaluations, and proof-of-concept initiatives. Documents efforts and provides follow-up on data-related incidents reported by any data consumer or stakeholder. Must comply fully and consistently with all company policies and procedures, with local and federal laws as well as with the regulations applicable to our Industry, to maintain appropriate business and employment practices. May carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned, according to the requirements of education and experience contained in this document. Minimum qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information System Management, Health Information Management, or other related fields. Minimum of two (2) years of previous experience supporting enterprise data initiatives, including technical administration of data platforms, metadata configuration, or business intelligence environments. Certifications / Licenses:

At least one of the following certifications is preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals or Data Analyst Associate, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or equivalent. Other:

Acknowledge in any of these programs: Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Fabric, SQL, Visio, Json, XML, and others according to the need. Languages:
