We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer who will oversee and manage the electrical and controls design of expansion and maintenance capital projects executed by third party engineering firms. You will ensure compliance with company standards, specifications and industry standards while managing project budget and schedules. You will liaison with other functional groups within Project Execution, Operations and Shared Services to ensure project and company requirements are achieved and incorporated into the design deliverables. Key Duties and Responsibilities
Proficiency: Must have experience in leading the design of large horsepower (10,000 to 30,000 HP) turbine and electrical motor driven centrifugal compressor stations Experience in industrial systems and Hazardous Classified Areas meeting NEC requirements. Power Systems: Manage 120/208 volt systems including lighting panels, lighting, convenience outlets. Oversee 480 volt systems including motor control centers/motor starters, motors, power panels, transformers, auto transfer switches and generators. Manage 4160 volt systems including switchgear, motor starters, synchronous motors, circuit breakers, relaying and metering. Handle cable and conduit sizing, starter and overload sizing, grounding systems and cathodic protection systems. Controls: Execute Allen-Bradley or equivalent PLC base controls systems including Wonderware based operator interface and communication between multiple PLC based systems. Design motor controls circuits, valve actuators electric and pneumatic, PID loop controllers and Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD). Instrumentation: Work with smart and analog transmitters including Rosemount and Honeywell, pneumatic gauges, pressure, differential pressure, and temperature transmitters. Manage level gauges and transmitters, RTDs, thermocouples, thermowells and flame and gas detector systems. Project Management: Oversees the development of the project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, risks and supporting information related to assigned facility projects. Ensures that all facilities are designed in accordance with all regulations, applicable industry codes and corporate standards Manages the execution of the design deliverables by a third party engineering firm against the project budget and schedule Reviews and approves design deliverables such as drawings, technical reports and material listing sheets Reviews vendor materials quotations, prepares technical evaluations, and recommends to the supervisor selections based on technical merit along with price and delivery. Provide technical support during the construction phase and the commissioning phase of the project. Reviews lessons learned from past projects and incorporates recommendations into future designs Provide technical guidance to junior engineers within the team or others based upon technical expertise Support and/or lead department initiatives as required Ensures that development project scope definitions comply with all regulatory, environmental, health and safety requirements through effective management and coordination of internal functional groups Scope/Dimensions
Responsible for the successful operations of the assigned area with significant corporate financial impact. Oversees the development and/or implementation of technical solutions, ensuring efficient coordination of technical resources and with other internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with Project Managers, Supervisors, Engineering Firms, and operations teams to obtain and provide guidance. Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering 7 years of progressively responsible experience in engineering and project management
Preferred:
Professional Engineer designation Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate and manage change. Capable of working independently, managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks accordingly Skilled in resolving complex problems and clearly communicating technical concepts
Working Conditions
