Construction Superintendent
to lead operations on our active job sites. Position Overview: The
Construction Superintendent
is responsible for the day-to-day management of construction activities on assigned job sites. This includes coordination of subcontractors, materials, inspections, schedules, and ensuring all work is performed in compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a background in public works construction and strong leadership abilities.
Responsibilities
Review Subcontractor scope and assist in bidding project to multiple subcontractors. Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities from start to finish. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and trades to ensure timely project execution. Monitor project progress against schedule, adjusting workflows and manpower as needed. Ensure compliance with all cities, state, and OSHA safety regulations and company policies. Conduct daily site inspections and maintain detailed project documentation (e.g., logs, reports, photos). Communicate regularly with Project Managers, architects, engineers, and owners. Facilitate site meetings, including progress updates and coordination sessions. Resolve issues on-site quickly and efficiently to minimize project delays. Manage material deliveries, inventory, and on-site logistics. Ensure quality control and adherence to contract documents. Coordinate with inspectors for all required inspections and testing. Help develop and maintain site-specific safety plans and enforce compliance.
Qualifications
Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Site Manager, Superintendent, or similar role in construction. Experience in public sector projects (schools, municipal buildings, etc.) preferred. Strong knowledge of general construction, HVAC systems, civil work, and building codes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Working Conditions
Outdoor work at active construction sites; exposure to weather and construction hazards. Must be able to walk, climb, lift, and stand for long periods. Occasional evening or weekend work based on project timelines.
