Overview LEGOLAND CA Security Supervisor FT role at Merlin Entertainments. This is a supervisory position leading a large, site-wide security team responsible for patrols, access control, guest and employee safety, loss prevention and incident response. The role centers on delivering a consistent, visible, and professional security presence that protects the Resort, supports safe operations, and reinforces a positive guest experience. Reporting to the Security Operations Manager, this role manages team deployment, enforces security procedures, supports investigations, and ensures accurate incident documentation. It also serves as the Security Duty Manager on a rotating basis, providing cross-functional leadership during assigned shifts.

Responsibilities

Daily Operations: supervise security personnel; patrol resort areas; maintain access control; respond to incidents (disturbances, lost children, theft, vandalism, intoxicated persons, lost & found, medical emergencies, fire alarms, on-property traffic collisions); staff the Park Dispatch Center; monitor CCTV; screen guests and employees at entrances/exits; complete detailed incident and injury reports; ensure safe operation of tools/equipment; know and execute the Resort Emergency Action Plan; assist Security Operations Manager with other duties as assigned.

Emergency Operations: support execution of emergency protocols, guest evacuations, access control, and first-response coordination; deploy security personnel during on-site emergencies; coordinate with facilities and operations to handle non-routine events; act as Security Duty Manager on rotating basis during live incidents or after-hours.

Incident Management: oversee daily incident documentation and reporting; lead initial internal investigations, gather statements, review CCTV, escalate findings; conduct debriefs and recommend procedural improvements; identify trends and escalate as needed.

Team Leadership and Development: build and lead a team of certified security personnel; schedule and support security operations across the Resort; maintain staffing levels and visible security presence in priority areas; set expectations for guest interaction, conduct, appearance, and incident response; support onboarding and training; coach front-line supervisors and shift leads.

Guest Safety and Experience: maintain a professional, approachable security presence in guest areas; train staff on communication, policy enforcement, de-escalation, and emergency support; collaborate with operations to resolve guest issues quickly and discreetly; serve as the primary on-site security contact for front-line teams; foster a guest-obsessed culture within direct reports.

Strategic Planning: manage deployment plans and shift schedules; monitor equipment usage and coordinate replacements; contribute to staffing models, budgeting, and expense tracking; supervise security personnel across all Resort locations as needed.

Health & Safety: enforce Merlin Entertainments Group Health, Safety, and Security Policy; identify hazards and escalate safety concerns; lead or support investigations for safety incidents and prepare reports; coordinate with Health & Safety teams and leadership on escalated issues.

Qualifications & Experience

Security leadership experience; prior supervision of law enforcement, military, or private security teams preferred.

Operational discipline with shift-based operations, deployment planning, and incident coverage in a large, high-traffic environment.

Strong written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate across departments and maintain control during fast-moving situations.

Problem-solving skills with ability to make timely decisions under pressure and follow escalation paths.

Flexibility to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule.

Technology proficiency: Microsoft Office; experience with scheduling, incident reporting, access control systems; ability to drive a vehicle.

Weekend and holiday availability as needed.

Benefits and Pay Base pay range: $30.00/hr. This role may be eligible for Merlin Entertainments provided pay ranges with actual pay based on skills and experience. Benefits include company-paid holidays, tickets to Merlin attractions, and a 30% discount in retail shops and restaurants.
