Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the government space? This role is for an experienced GEOINT Ground Manager who will help evaluate and guide system architectures as they evolve to commercial trends like Agile development, Cloud migration, MBSE principles, and streamlined DevOps deployments. Responsibilities include leading teams using the latest open source tools, supporting the mission of our Intelligence Community Customer, and coordinating ground requirements, CONOPS, and architectures in the remote sensing domain. You will oversee allocation and closure of acquisition-level requirements with developers, independent verification, validation and test in support of delivered system capabilities, participation in readiness events, and interfacing with numerous customers. You will lead project planning, assess schedule and risk, generate and present engineering briefings, and follow customer standards and processes as the program matures through the lifecycle. The selected candidate will serve as the deputy manager to the GEOINT Ground Senior Manager and will be a senior technical member of a dynamic systems engineering and acquisition team supporting our customer’s initiatives. The role requires significant manager/leadership experience coordinating and supporting ground requirements, CONOPS, and architectures in the remote sensing domain; supporting enterprise and system level requirements for future systems; overseeing the allocation and closure of acquisition-level requirements with developers; independent verification, validation and test; readiness events; and engagement with customers. The candidate will focus on trades, capability definition, CONOPS generation, and interaction with Mission Partners, and will help customer acquisitions leverage MBSE and agile principles to define capability roadmaps, Solution Epic generation, and features to prioritize developer backlogs in alignment with capability deliveries. The candidate will provide subject matter expertise and agile best practices to teams coordinating CONOPS and architecture products, translating requirements into features, assessing system and segment schedule and risks, and supporting agile test and DevOps verification strategies. The role includes managing delivery timelines, risk assessment, and readiness planning for system and acquisition-level ground milestones, as well as supporting integration of new systems and initiatives to expand GEOINT mission capabilities. The candidate will have daily interaction with the customer and supporting contractors and will follow customer standards and processes as the program matures. Manager responsibilities include hiring, mentoring and career development, retention and awards, and performance assessment and management. The candidate will coordinate with multiple Acquisition Offices and support risk and action closure, technical consultation, meeting coordination, and briefings. Qualifications
This position requires an understanding of the intelligence community and customer domain, with a strong focus on core systems engineering and/or acquisition processes in support of end-to-end mission and services closure. Required BS 12-15, MS 10-13, PhD 8-10 Leadership and supervision experience Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly Experience with strategic planning and execution Experience with Performance Management Experience with communication and collaboration across large teams Experience with hiring and training of new employees Experience with developing and implementing policy and procedure Experience with programmatic and personnel problem solving and decision making Knowledge of GEOINT remote sensing systems and overall space and ground architecture including mission management and/or mission processing functions Integration and closure experience within overall customer domain Detailed knowledge of customer\'s mission capabilities (to include GEOINT and Multi-INT domains) and overall space and ground architecture Expertise in mission technical capabilities and system performance analysis and assessment Experience identifying user needs and gaps, identifying potential solutions, and assessing/analyzing alternatives Experience in supporting Requirements Engineering, CONOPs development, and system integration within MBSE construct to accommodate End to End Systems Engineering Commitment to recognize, understand, respect and operate effectively within various SETA, FFRDC, and Government lines of authority Desired Familiarity with overall GEOINT ground customer, technical familiarity with mission control and/or processing of one or more GEOINT systems, including sensor knowledge Knowledge of, and experience defining SOWs and executing acquisition activities and practices Knowledge of, and experience defining and executing MBSE standards and practices Hands-on experience developing system models in SysML with a recognized MBSE tool, preferably CAMEO Adaptability to define and sustain MBSE principles, processes and standards within an agile development framework Ability to work for specific IC customer and familiarity with that customer’s processes and organization Knowledge of, and experience executing, SAFe Agile methodology EEO Statement
