AECOM is seeking an Archaeological Technician I for our Boston, MA/Providence, RI office to support field and cultural resource projects throughout the New England and Mid-Atlantic Regions. Opportunities will also be available for projects located in the Southeast and Mid-West Regions. Responsibilities
Performs archaeological fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and documentation. Works under the direction of Crew Chiefs, Field Director, Lab Supervisor, and Principal Investigator. Collaborates with technical field, lab and office staff, managers and administrative staff to ensure projects meet AECOM quality standards. Provides project support as needed (graphic support, writing, travel coordination, paperwork organization, and field equipment preparation) as directed by supervisors. Performs data entry. Performs artifact labeling. Copies records for curation. May build or repair field/lab equipment. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
BS or BA in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related discipline or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Must have successfully completed an accredited archaeological field school. Valid Driver’s License and must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review. US Citizenship is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Well-versed in standard archaeological techniques including excavation of shovel test pits and test units for all phases of investigations. Prepared for field, lab, and office tasks. Ability to communicate clearly and work well with others. Experience with GPS data collection, Total Station, digital field data collection (ArcCollector, Survey123, Fulcrum, or comparable), MS Office, MS Access.

Sponsorship is not available for this position. Relocation is not available for this position. Flexibility to travel overnight and out of state for up to 3+ months at a time.
