Overview

Research Study Assistant role at the University of Washington. The Department of Medicine Division of Cardiology invites applications for a full-time Research Study Assistant to support the Clinical Trial Unit (CTU) and research staff in NIH- and industry-sponsored clinical trials. The CTU provides investigator support, regulatory oversight, and ensures safety and high-quality data across studies. Duties and Responsibilities

Provide general research support and assistance to the UW Cardiology Clinical Trials Unit research team. Work independently on multiple research projects with limited supervision after onboarding. Collaborate with Research Coordinators, Administrative and Regulatory teams, health care teams, research participants, and other groups necessary for project success. Assist with coordination and day-to-day operations of minimal-risk, non-interventional studies (registries, observational studies, and related projects) under general oversight. Support Research Coordinators and Regulatory Coordinators with participant visits and study logistics, including preparing study document packets, scheduling visits, and handling administrative tasks. Prepare laboratory requisitions, assemble kits, manage study kit inventory, and handle specimen-related tasks per study guidelines. Obtain medical records and radiology images as needed, and coordinate submissions to sponsor vendors. Assist with safety event reporting, record requests, redacting medical records, and related tasks. Archive study documents after study closure and assist with device storage and record maintenance. Support room scheduling, patient transportation logistics, and reimbursement processing as needed. Perform general administrative tasks to support day-to-day clinical research operations. Minimum Requirements

Two years of college-level coursework in a relevant academic area AND one year of appropriate experience. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications, except where legal requirements apply (license, certification, or registration). Desired Qualifications

Strong organizational and time-management skills with high attention to detail. Self-motivated, proactive, able to take initiative, solve issues, and adapt to dynamic environments. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team. Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
