Calspan's Force Measurement, located in San Diego, CA, is an industry leader in the engineering and manufacture of complex force measuring aerospace hardware and prototype systems for ground test and flight applications. We specialize in wind tunnel equipment for the aerospace community. We are seeking a Calibration Technician to join our team. Responsibilities
Partner with a Senior Technician to calibrate force measurement balances using a combination of hydraulic and dead weight loading. Inspect subsystem equipment. Assemble complex force measurement balance systems. Perform electrical checks using a digital multimeter and make patch panel wiring connections. Assist with static load calibration of complex force measurement systems; calibrate force measurement balances and assist with inspection of subsystem equipment. Assist Engineers with the assembly of mechanical systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and electronic problems. Perform repairs as necessary. Qualifications
Associates Degree; 3+ years of related discipline; or A combination of education and experience equivalent to above. Knowledge / Abilities
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Read and understand assembly drawings and work instructions. Must be able to utilize instrumentation (digital multimeter and power supply) equipment to check product conformity after soldering operations have been performed. Knowledge of operating a mill and lathe is a plus. Be Calspan Culture
