Chromalloy is a global engineering & solutions company. We are a leadings provider of aftermarket parts, repairs, and solutions that safely & reliably extend the life of aircraft engines and gas turbines. We develop, manufacture and repair critical turbine components for a range of engine platforms. Our solutions support the engines running the aerospace, energy and defense industries around the world. This is an hourly position with Local 475. Rate of pay is $28.30/hr with 15% differential with 3rd shift- 11pm- 7am Sunday through Thursday Responsibilities: With appropriate training, perform required metallurgical evaluations to produce statutory MCL Reports. Sample preparation and testing are daily components of this position. Tests samples using various techniques which may include using optical microscope, and scanning electron microscopes, hardness testing equipment, oxidation, or other properties of the metal. Examines metal and alloy samples using various metallurgical tools and methods. Perform lab and equipment maintenance and housekeeping, including periodic preventative maintenance as assigned. Maintain a high level of quality and participate in ensuring a safe work environment. Follow written Chromalloy procedures, applicable industry standards, and customer supplied specifications and methods to properly prepare metallurgical mounts. Follow Chromalloy's quality procedures and maintain a high level of quality. Provide adequate turnaround time to persons assigning work. Maintain communication with coworkers and supervisors/managers. Adapt to changing priorities and conflicting time demands as directed. Provide reliable and timely support for the Metallurgy Dept and other departments as needed. Qualifications : College degree required (Associates or Bachelors) Experience operating various metallographic machines such as automatic polishing equipment, metallographic sectioning saws, and mounting presses required Knowledge of various measuring tools Excellent oral and written communication skills required Ability to handle multiple duties and meet strict deadlines Must be fluent in English, (speaking, reading, writing) Due to government regulation only US persons (U.S. citizen, U.S. naturalized citizen, U.S. permanent resident, holder of U.S. approved political asylee or refugee status) may be considered for this role.
