ESPO Corporation is seeking an
Electrical Engineer
for a leading utility client in the Akron, OH area. This position will support the client's Transmission & Distribution (T&D) engineering team, focusing on budgeting, project coordination, and technical oversight of regional transmission projects. The role offers the opportunity for long‑term growth within a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Work with multiple client stakeholders to determine budget years for transmission projects based on feasibility, budget, and need.
Assist in creating and compiling the client's rate filing for PJM.
Review and approve baseline budget costs for individual projects.
Attend budget planning meetings with client stakeholders (general managers, supervisors, etc.).
Review and process project change requests (scope, in‑service date, etc.).
Coordinate with outage planning to assemble a set of regional projects that avoid conflicts.
Provide informal mentoring and training to portfolio engineers on T&D design and project processes.
Review engineering estimates for accuracy and completeness.
Interface daily with planning portfolio engineers and client management.
Collaborate with the client's accounting group to establish financial setups for projects.
Create analyses and reports to assist the client in tracking, coordinating, and executing projects.
Develop baseline scopes, schedules, and budgets for release to multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited) and a minimum of
3 years
of electrical engineering experience, OR
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology (ABET accredited) and successful completion of the
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
exam and minimum
3 years
of experience, OR
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited) and minimum
2 years
of experience.
Preferred: Up to
6 years
of Transmission & Distribution (T&D) experience.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
