As an actuary at AIG, you will be challenged to reach your greatest potential, using analytical and problem-solving skills to predict and mitigate risk. The acturial team focuses on profitability studies, pricing, and reserving losses for AIG’s major regulated and rated operating companies globally. You will work with Portfolio Analytics and Pricing Actuaries on technical pricing, product development analytics, and performance measurement, collaborating with Marketing, Operations and Financial Management. Actuarial Analyst responsibilities: Analyze data to determine loss and expense reserve adequacy using actuarial techniques. Evaluate the appropriate IBNR to be booked each quarter and prepare Sarbanes-Oxley documentation. Conduct research, experience studies and other complex actuarial analyses; develop, review, and analyze changes and improvements to actuarial procedures. Optimize processes to meet business needs. Assist production of the Schedule P and other reports or exhibits for GAAP and Statutory financials. Complete projects independently with some supervision. What We’re Looking For
BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area preferred. Required 2+ actuarial exams. 2 or more years of experience in Property & Casualty (P&C). Proficiency in Excel, SQL, SAS, Python, R, or other programming languages strongly preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong business and collaboration skills, with responsiveness to service needs and operational demands. Effective time management skills.
