Overview
HF Sinclair is seeking a Refinery Accounting Analyst in Anacortes, WA. In this role you will conduct moderately complex to complex accounting assignments as assigned with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
Prepares journal entries, maintains general ledger accounts and reconciles sub ledgers for month-end close
Reviews, analyzes and develops solutions for problems or variances arising within departments
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts
Provides records of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions to support general ledger and financial statements
Reconciles various accounts and enters them into the system, ensuring the integrity of the data
Prepares month-end close by obtaining information from various reports, entering it into the system and verifying that debits and credits balances are accurate
Support cost review meetings with cost center owners, including preparation of cost files for review
Audits journal entries, orders, transactions and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement
Coordinates all SAP postings of pipeline, truck, marine and terminal movements, and prepare and review all periodic SAP shipper statements
Evaluates and remedy all SAP movement errors and prepare monthly product movement reports
Analyzes all shipper gains and losses to ensure accuracy
Assists A/R and A/P in resolving billing and invoicing issues
Measures volumes and track actual vs. budgeted volumes by site
Process various fuel or crude entries and other reports as necessary
Experience A minimum of 3 years’ related experience is required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience in Revenue Accounting is preferred.
Education A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent required.
PREFERRED EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree, in Accounting, Finance or related field, is preferred.
Required Skills Must have intermediate understanding of accounting practices and procedures with the ability to perform accounting analysis as needed. Working knowledge of Microsoft products, experience with accounting and maintenance software, and experience in Revenue Accounting is preferred. Basic reading and writing skills and the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility None
Work Conditions Office based and/or in a petroleum refinery. May be required to work flexible hours.
