Responsibilities The Radiographer/CT Technologist, under the direct supervision of the Medical Director of Radiology and Administrative Director of Radiology, is responsible for providing high-quality images for interpretation by the radiologist to aid in patient diagnosis. To provide all services necessary within the organization and Department of Radiology to ensure proper patient care while obtaining requested radiographic examinations.

Compensation and Salary Notes Salaries shown on independent job-related websites reflect market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from Garnet Health Medical Center. The compensation range for the role is $41.95-$49.35 hourly + $1.50 IV Cert Diff + $2/PDM Rate Factor. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with New York State salary transparency law. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits. Several factors may be considered when determining compensation (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity).

Qualifications Minimum Education:

Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology Program. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. New graduates must have a letter from the radiology program stating they meet graduation requirements and provide a diploma within 3 months of hire if a diploma is not available at time of hire.

Minimum Experience:

Six months CT scan experience preferred or completion of CT training program inclusive of didactic and clinical rotation or commitment to complete the Garnet Health CT Scan training program.

Required Certification/Registration:

Experienced CT Scan Technologist:

New York State Radiologic Technologist License required

ARRT (R) required

ARRT (CT) - Certification required within 12 months of hire

BLS required within 30 days from date of hire

NYS DOH Injection license - required within 3 months from date of hire

New CT Scan Technologist hired into the Garnet Health CT Scan Training Program:

ARRT (R) required (New Graduates must obtain the ARRT (R) registry within 3 months from date of hire)

ARRT (CT) Certification required within 18 months of hire

BLS required within 30 days from date of hire

NYS DOH Injection license required within 3 months from date of hire (New Graduates must have a temporary permit issued by NYS DOH and obtain a NYS DOH License within 3 months from date of hire)

Physical and Working Conditions Physical Requirements:

Position requires lifting (50-75 lbs), transferring and assisting patients. Occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching. 80% standing or walking, 20% sitting. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word is required.

Working Conditions:

Environmental demands and exposure to hazards: Works in a clean, well-lit, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards. May have occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise. Physical demands include full range of motion, visual and aural acuity, dexterity, ability to lift 75 lbs. Mental demands include collaboration, working under pressure, organizing and prioritizing tasks, critical thinking, multi-tasking, and attention to detail. May be required to work irregular hours including evenings or weekends for operational or community events as necessary.
