Overview Perdue Foods seeks future leaders to join the Engineering team in Milford, DE as a Pathways Participant with a program start in June 2026. The Perdue Pathways Program develops individuals into future leaders in the company's operations management field. The program lasts 24 months and combines hands-on training, learning and development sessions, continuous improvement projects, and structured departmental rotations. Upon successful completion, participants may transition into a Jr. Project Manager/Jr. Project Engineer role.

Program Structure and Expectations Your first 12 months involve rotating through key areas of the Perdue Farms organization to gain broad exposure and hands-on experience. The anticipated next step is a supervisor role after the rotation. The second year focuses on continued growth with mentorship, a personalized development plan, leadership training, and participation in talent reviews. The program aims to prepare you for long-term career success at Perdue Farms.

Responsibilities

Develop an understanding of key elements of project management, technical engineering, and engineering work processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the business and gain broader business acumen.

Acquire knowledge of administrative functions, manpower reports, disciplinary procedures, budget, and production processes; contribute ideas for continuous improvement.

Understand and support team processes, establish clear roles, encourage accountability, and participate in effective communication and problem solving.

Assist in implementing Quality Improvement Process policies with the team/department.

Develop self-awareness and apply best practices in communications, integrity, and Perdue values.

Rotate through various functions in Perdue plants and facilities as part of the program.

Complete projects related to cost reduction or improved performance.

Attend learning events, including on-ground and e-learning formats; travel to Perdue sites as needed to work with project managers/engineers.

Minimum Education

Completed Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university within 24 months of the Pathways program starting (June 2026 start).

Eligible graduation years: May 2026, December 2025, May 2025, December 2024, May 2024.

Fields: Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production Management, Business or Business Administration, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Agriculture.

Qualifications

AutoCAD experience

Project management experience

Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to work independently and in a team

Willingness to rotate across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts and weekends

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Ability to work 8+ hours in various positions and environments, including wet, moist, dry, or greasy floors; exposure to heavy equipment and temperatures ranging from -40 to 75 degrees with varying humidity

Exposure to noise up to 110 dB and variable lighting

Physical activities including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, twisting, reaching, and climbing stairs or ladders; exposure to chemicals found in a poultry processing plant

Must wear required protective and safety equipment
