Recruitment Number OHHI-25158. The Department of Transportation - Highways Division has one (1) urgent vacancy located in Wailuku/Kahului. Repairs and overhauls a variety of heavy vehicles and/or construction equipment as a substantially full-time assignment; and performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualification Requirements

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements: Legal Authorization To Work:

The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. Experience:

FOUR (4) YEARS

of progressively responsible automotive repair experience under a

JOURNEY LEVEL MECHANIC .

ONE (1) YEAR

of this experience must have included heavy vehicle and/or construction equipment repair work. Note: Repair work on a personal vehicle is not qualifying. Lift and Carry:

Applicants must be able to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds assisted by another person and/or use of equipment (e.g., hoisting equipment, hand truck), with or without reasonable accommodation. CDL:

AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION, applicants must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), CLASS A WITH Endorsement N (Tank vehicles 1,000 gallons or more capacity), and have no restrictions relating to codes E (manual transmission), L (air brakes), and O (Class A tractor-trailer combination). Note:

If a copy of your CDL is not submitted at the time of application, your application will be rejected. A valid out-of-state CDL may be accepted. If selected, you must transfer your out-of-state CDL to a Hawaii-issued CDL prior to employment start date. Hawaii CDL will be verified before you can start work. Contact the Honolulu CDL Office at (808) 768-4185 for information on obtaining a Hawaii CDL. The Federal Department of Transportation regulations require pre-employment testing for controlled substances. If selected, you will be notified where to report for testing. Substitutions Allowed:
