Overview

Personal Banker role at Valley Bank. The Personal Banker will provide effective sales and service support within the banking office, educate clients on banking solutions, and exemplify Valley's quality service standards. This position involves analyzing client needs, recommending products and services, and performing routine banking transactions (teller and platform) while supporting the Market Manager in delivering quality service and ensuring operational compliance. Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with Valley's mission statement. Engage customers with friendly and professional service. Demonstrate knowledge of all bank products and services, educate customers, and cross-sell products and services as appropriate. Present a confident, professional demeanor to establish trust; analyze needs and recommend appropriate products and services. Meet with customers to analyze financial needs, maximize sales opportunities, and assist with opening new accounts (e.g., checking, savings, certificate of deposit, and IRAs). Discuss and promote loan products and convey online and mobile banking capabilities. Meet customer expectations and achieve service quality standards; participate in the sales referral process and assist management in coaching and mentoring branch staff. Perform transactions required by customers, balance cash box, and use technology to provide efficient service. Support customers with Teller Scanning Equipment, Cash Recycling and Cash Dispensing machines, and Coin Machines. Act as Vault Teller to ensure adequate branch cash, assist in ordering/shipping currency, and manage cash distribution to Tellers within prescribed limits. Assist in community events (e.g., Habitat for Humanity) and support CRA initiatives and programs. Report significant matters and unusual customer activity to the Manager; maintain knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements. Maintain knowledge and compliance with the Bank's Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures. Required Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to write correspondence and demonstrate products and services to customers. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact, and diplomacy in dealings with customers and employees. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities to resolve complex customer issues. Ability to make sound on-the-spot decisions regarding customer transactions, balancing customer satisfaction with bank risk and fraud considerations. Ability to interpret various instructions delivered in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form. Deep understanding of Retail Banking and strong customer service skills to engage customers in conversations about products and services. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient computer skills. Required Experience

High School diploma or GED and minimum 1 year of business services experience in branch banking and knowledge of branch operations, or successful completion of a Valley Retail training program. Preferred Experience

FIS/IBS (Integrated Banking Solutions). Job Details
