Responsibilities

The Psychiatric Institute of Washington is seeking a talented and dynamic Inpatient Therapist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. Full-time, Monday-Friday day shift. Basic Function: Responsible for facilitating individual and group therapy to individuals with trauma, affective mood disorders, co-occurring or substance-use complications. Groups are held Monday through Friday. The group therapist will facilitate group therapy topics that are able to generalize to each member’s needs. Responsible for providing direct patient care to adults ages 18+ that is congruent with the philosophy and standards of practice defined by the Department of Clinical Care Management. Responsible for conducting the intake and psychosocial assessments, case-management activities, group and individual therapy, crisis intervention, and participating as an active member of the interdisciplinary team. Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline from an accredited graduate school. A Graduate Clinical Licensure in District of Columbia required (LGPC/LPC/LGSW). Minimum one to two years of experience in delivering direct clinical services in a behavioral health setting; some portion must have included treatment of substance‑use and trauma conditions. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of hospital systems, including intake/admission procedures; experience working with third‑party payers preferred. Experience in outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospital work preferred.
